High Line Unveils Spring 2026 Commissions by Fordjour, Bernhardt, and Six More Artists
Cecilia Alemani's latest program for the elevated park brings new sculptures, a billboard, and video works organized around bodies, labor, and infrastructure.
High Line Art has announced its spring 2026 season, with new commissions by Patricia Ayres, Ximena Garrido-Lecca, Derek Fordjour, Katherine Bernhardt, Saba Khan, Marianna Simnett, Filip Kostic, and Ana Husman. The works, which include sculptures, a billboard, and video exhibitions, will be installed along the elevated park in lower Manhattan throughout the season.
The program is curated by Cecilia Alemani, the director and chief curator of High Line Art, who organized the 2022 Venice Biennale. The commissions are organized around the theme of bodies, labor, and infrastructure, continuing Alemani's interest in how artists address the physical and social systems that shape daily life.
With each new commission and each artist's unique way of interpreting the world, I learn so much.
Patricia Ayres will present her first series of outdoor sculptures on the High Line, while Derek Fordjour and Katherine Bernhardt contribute new works to a program that has become one of the most closely watched public art commissions in the United States.
The High Line's art program, which is free to visit, has consistently demonstrated that public commissions can operate at the same level of ambition as museum exhibitions. The spring 2026 season continues that standard.
